E-sabong operations have been suspended nationwide since 2022, under Executive Order No. 9, which President Marcos Jr. signed on 28 December 2022.
The suspension continues under that order. That means sabong live streams and online betting on them sit inside the suspension, while the traditional cockfight in a licensed cockpit does not. For the wider rules, read cockfighting under PD 449.
Sabong live: what is and is not covered
Search for sabong live and you land between two different things, and the law treats them differently. The table sets each activity against the text that governs it.

Is online sabong legal? The three facts that settle it
The answer follows from three points you can check in the texts.
- EO 9 says all e-sabong operations, including auxiliary ones, shall continue to be suspended nationwide.
- Its Section 1(b) reaches online betting “regardless of the location of the betting platform”.
- Its Section 2 has the DILG and the PNP assist PAGCOR and take appropriate action against violators in accordance with law.
So an offer to bet on a live sabong stream is not something this site can point you to, and it names no stream, brand or schedule.

Section 5(d) allows it in licensed cockpits on Sundays and legal holidays, and during local fiestas for not more than three days.
